College Ministry News – Week of August 22, 2010

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Student, remember that this Tuesday, August 24 is our annual P3 Meeting (Prayer, Planning & Pizza) at 6:00 pm at the Bible Chair.  There will be fun, there will be games, and there will be prayer.  It will be awesome to come to the Lord together to seek His wisdom and power this semester.  Be there!

Freshmen begin moving into the dorms on August 25 and we will be there to lend a hand.  Plan to help with the move on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 and then plan to attend the WT Alliance Blue Bell Bash that evening at 7:00 pm on Terrell Lawn.  After the Blue Bell Bash, we will invite new students to the Bible Chair for more fun — the “Adrenaline Rush” inflatable obstacle course!

Finally, mark your calendars for the Blue Haven Retreat on September 10-12.  The cost is $55 and you can go ahead and sign up and pay at the Bible Chair.

Welcome, Brad & Rachel Raburn!

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

After much prayer and discussion, we are excited to announce the hiring of Brad Raburn as the 2010-11 Buffs for Christ intern.  Brad is married to Rachel, who works in Amarillo as an accountant for Brown, Graham & Co.  Brad attended Lubbock Christian University and Grand Canyon University where he studied youth ministry and he served as a youth minister for the Mesa Church of Christ in Mesa, Arizona, until 2008.  The Raburns moved to Canyon nearly two years ago to work with the High Plains Children’s Home.  Since Rachel accepted her current position, Brad has served as a writer and photographer for the Canyon News. Longing to sharpen himself for future ministry, Brad decided to begin a MA in Counseling at WTAMU this fall.

May we give a joyful welcome to Brad and Rachel!  Let us pray that God uses them to touch the hearts and lives of students at WTAMU for His glory!
